Vision
A passion for animals and a love for the city and community of San Francisco is at the heart of Sniff and Go. Founded in 2009, Sniff and Go is more than just a dog walking service – it’s peace of mind for devoted pet owners. We understand that while pet owners can’t always physically be by their pet’s side, they still want the best for them.
Why
When Sniff and Go was founded in 2009, the thought of taking dogs off-leash sounded like so much fun! However, not all dogs thrive in an off-leash setting. We are here for all dogs – that are not human reactive* – that would love to have a daily routine in place, with the safety and attention of a 1:1 professional dog walker, experiencing all the sniffs and sights of their neighborhood.
BetteR+ Dog Walks is not, at all, meant to be interpreted as better than other dog walking business. There are so many wonderful, talented, and amazing dog walking companies and individuals in San Francisco! BetteR+ Dog Walks is meant as, the team here at Sniff and Go, offers positive reinforcement on-leash dog walks, which with time and consistency, results in better on-leash dog walks for all parties involved.
R+ stands for positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement is a scientific term used to describe adding a reinforcer to increase a behavior.
Team
All Sniff and Go services are delivered with safety and compassion in mind. In fact, we hire on our professional team as employees, not as contractors, to ensure our standards are met while correctly classifying and upholding labor law regulations for our team. All employees are thoroughly trained and must pass a criminal background check and a Pet First Aid and CPR course, and we emphasize respectful, fear-free methods of positive reinforcement to form successful bonds between our team and animal clients.
Standards
Sniff and Go dog walks are completed with safety, for both the walker and the dog, at the top of priorities. To do this, all team members go through animal behavior foundations, positive reinforcement techniques for walking a dog on-leash, redirect “games” to use when potential triggers are nearby, and instant access to our local support team that can step in whenever extra assistance is needed.
Sniff and Go Benefits
Dog owners are able to stay connected through online scheduling, real-time updates, and a digital journal entry, with photo, daily happenings, and summary of visit, at the conclusion of each visit. Sniff and Go is commercially insured and bonded, and licensed through the City and County of San Francisco #1012621. We are also recognized by San Francisco Animal Care and Control as certified in commercial dog walking.
