It’s no secret that we here at Sniff and Go are firm believers in spoiling your dog (within reason, of course). They bring us so much love, joy, and companionship, that it’s only fair to return the favor and give them something fun to play with either with us or by themselves. But what makes a good toy? With the number of options out there, it can be super daunting, but not to worry! We’ve partnered with our good friends at Cole Valley Pets to give you a couple of their favorite toys to give to your lucky dog (or to give to a dog-loving friend or relative!) this holiday season. We know things like durable fetch balls, kong toys, and a good old fashioned rope knot are eternally popular, so we went a little bit different, and a little more giftable here. So without further ado, here are Cole Valley Pets’ favorite three dog toys for this holiday season!

This adorable chipmunk toy is the perfect stocking stuffer for your dog this holiday season! It’s made from durable, high-quality materials, with a small squeaker in the belly (that isn’t too loud!), and is more or less made for the smaller dog in your (or your friend or loved one’s) life! According to our friends at Cole Valley Pets, they had trouble keeping these in stock! As soon as they got more in, they’d all but fly off the shelves! VIP pet toys have an awesome range of toys for every dog, from their adorable Silly Squeakers to their most durable TUFFY and DuraForce range for the more vigorous chewers. The team at Cole Valley Pets was quick to recommend the Microfiber Ball Lobster. Rated at a 9/10 on VIP’s own “Tuffscale”, this lobster definitely lives up to the rating! The outer layer of fabric is a soft, plush microfiber that’s so much gentler than the usual reinforced nylon of more intensely durable toys, but the unwoven fleece inner layer promises to prevent your dog from absolutely ripping it to shreds by moving with the action of your dog’s jaw, alongside FOUR layers of stitching to ensure no burst seams. The head and thorax of the lobster have a delightfully squeaky rubber ball at the core, sure to entice even the snobbiest of sniffers, and ensures the toy (which is also machine washable!) will float in water. Our friends at CVP love this toy and we’re sure you will too! 

For dogs that love to get a little rowdy, a tug toy can make for hours of fun between the two of you, and Tall Tails wants to make sure both of you have a great time! This 16” tug toy made of natural materials like wool, leather, and cotton jute is a super sturdy, well-made product. The woven cotton jute rope that runs through the core of this toy is durable, but not abrasive, and the leather and wool Bone in the middle is both a good chew for a moderately gentle, medium to medium-large dog, but is also totally free of toxic chemicals or artificial flavoring/fragrances. They say that giving a gift that you will benefit from is bad form, but when you consider the hours and hours of fun you’ll have with your dog, we think this Tall Tails toy is worth bending the rules for, and our friends at Cole Valley Pets absolutely agree!
