The Neighborhood

Dog walking in the Castro, San Francisco

Our walkers know every block of Castro Street, 18th Street, Noe Street, and Market Street past the Castro Theatre. Every shortcut, every patch of shade on a hot afternoon, every good sniffing spot along the way. From the flat, easy strolling of Eureka Valley to the quieter climbs up through Dolores Heights and Mission Dolores, we are genuinely at home here in a way that shows. With Sniff and Go Headquarters at 2338 Market St, we are always close by, and yes, the rainbow flag is literally in our view.

Walks in the Castro are private, on-leash, and built around the streets your dog already loves. The blocks they know, the routes they pull toward the second the leash comes out. Victorians, modern condos, security gates, fob entry, we handle all of it during onboarding so your walker shows up ready to go, not texting you from the stoop. This is Sniff and Go's backyard, and it's still where we feel most at home.

What Walks Look Like in the Castro

Private walks on the residential blocks just off Castro Street.

Trained for foot traffic

Castro and 18th Street fill up fast. Our walkers read body language constantly and know which side streets stay calmer when the main blocks get loud.

Quiet-block routing

The blocks just off Castro Street stay calmer than the main strip. We use them for steady residential walks paced to your dog's age and energy.

Coded entries handled

Security gates, walk-up Victorians, mid-rise condos. Access details are set up during onboarding so your walker never delays the start of the walk.

Castro FAQs

Common questions from Castro dog parents

Yes. The Castro is one of our core service areas, with walkers covering routes around Castro Street, Market Street, 18th Street, and the streets near Harvey Milk Plaza Monday through Friday.
Yes. Our walkers know which side streets to use during high-traffic windows and how to time routes around the busiest stretches of Castro and Market. We pick the route based on your dog's confidence and the time of day.
Walks happen on the residential streets right around your dog's home. We're not running destination expeditions to Duboce Park or Corona Heights. Privacy and safety come first, which means short, structured walks on the blocks your dog already knows.
We set up access during onboarding. Most Castro clients use a coded entry, lockbox, or keys on file. We're comfortable with security gates, garden flats, and the walk-up Victorians common throughout the neighborhood.
Membership plans start at ~$28 per walking day, billed monthly. Flex Walks for one-off needs start at $35 per visit. See our dog walking page for full pricing details.
